O sorriso estético é constituído pela cor, forma dos dentes, lábios e gengiva, que devem estar em perfeita harmonia. É designado sorriso gengival quando ao sorrir o lábio superior se posiciona acima do nível da margem gengival dos incisivos centrais superiores, comprometendo a autoestima e relacionamento social do indivíduo. Embora a toxina botulínica apresente efeito temporário é relatada como uma opção terapêutica eficaz, método rápido, efetivo e menos invasivo para o tratamento do sorriso gengival. Este trabalho teve por objetivo relatar dois casos clínicos, demonstrando uma opção alternativa menos invasiva de tratamento do sorriso gengival, causado pela hiperfunção dos músculos levantador do lábio superior e da asa do nariz. Foi injetado 6U de toxina botulínica bilateralmente a 1 cm da asa do nariz em uma posição de 25º. Após 15 dias avaliou-se a eficácia da sua ação. Esse tratamento apresenta duração média de 4 a 6 meses, sendo necessária reaplicação.

The aesthetic smile consists of the color, shape of the teeth, lips and gums, which must be in perfect harmony. It is called a gingival smile when, when smiling, the upper lip is positioned above the level of the gingival margin of the upper central incisors, compromising the individual's self-esteem and social relationship. Although botulinum toxin has a temporary effect, it is reported as an effective therapeutic option, fast, effective and less invasive method for the treatment of gummy smile. This study aimed to report two clinical cases, demonstrating a less invasive alternative option for the treatment of gummy smile, caused by the hyperfunction of the levator labii superioris and the wing of the nose muscles. 6U of botulinum toxin was injected bilaterally 1 cm from the ala of the nose in a 25º position. After 15 days, the effectiveness of its action was evaluated. This treatment has an average duration of 4 to 6 months, requiring reapplication.
