A população masculina possui uma atitude negligenciadora de sua saúde o que desenvolveu altos índices de morbimortalidade desses indivíduos, o motivo no entanto observado seria as construções civis de que o homem por ser provedor de uma família, uma figura paterna e machista, não tinha o direito de ficar doente, pela pressão causada por esse estereotipo os homens acabam se comprometendo a uma situação de risco, desenvolvendo o uso de álcool e tabaco que por fim promove maior possibilidade de desenvolvimento de distúrbios psicológicos, principalmente de ansiedade e depressão. A priori foi investigado as resistências que os homens encontravam para procurar a atenção básica. Foi observado que a população da amostra não detecta problemas para se deslocar ate a unidade concluindo então que o senso comum antes intitulado como estereotipo se torna volátil nessa realidade.
