The present study aims to investigate the prevalence of the risk factor for the development of cardiovascular diseases in weight training practitioners, focusing on the waist-to-hip ratio. The waist-to-hip ratio (WHR) is used as a relevant anthropometric indicator to identify the risk of cardiovascular diseases, showing the distribution of body fat, especially in the abdominal region. A sample of weight training gym-goers will be examined to determine the prevalence of practitioners with an elevated WHR, which is associated with cardiovascular risk, aiming to highlight the importance of assessing this risk factor in individuals who practice weight training. Emphasizing the importance of weight training in the prevention and treatment of cardiometabolic diseases, which are among the leading causes of death globally.
