Levando em consideração grande prevalência de Ruptura do Ligamento Cruzado Cranial (RLCCr) em cães, sua multifatoriedade assim como a vasta quantidade de opções para sua resolução objetivou-se relatar um caso de RLCCr em canino bem como seu tratamento. Um canino da raça pastor Alemão, 7 anos foi atendido em uma clínica veterinária com histórico de claudicação no membro pélvico direito. Foi realizado os testes de gaveta e compressão tibial bem como a radiografia confirmaram o diagnóstico de RLCCr. O paciente foi submetido a técnica de Osteotomia de Nivelamento do Platô Tibial-TPLO. A técnica visa alterar o ângulo do platô tibial para 5-6°, sem comprometer o ligamento cruzado caudal e estabilizar a articulação fêmur-tíbio-patelar. No presente relato o emprego desta técnica apresentou resultados satisfatórios com recuperação da função normal do paciente em três dias o que demonstrou a eficácia desta técnica para tratamento de RLCCr em animais de companhia.

Taking into account the high prevalence of Cranial Cruciate Ligament Rupture (CRCLR) in dogs, its multifactorial nature as well as the vast number of options for its resolution, the objective is to relate a case of CRCLr in a canine as well as its treatment. A 7-year-old German Shepherd canine was referred to the Pronto-Vet Veterinary Hospital, Barra do Garças-MT with a history of lameness in the right pelvic limb. Drawer tests and tibial specifications were performed, as well as radiography, confirming the diagnosis of RLCCr. The patient underwent the Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy-TPLO technique. The technique aims to change the angle of the tibial plateau to 5-6°, without compromising the caudal cruciate ligament and stabilizing the femur-tibio-patellar joint. In the present report, the use of this technique showed initial results with recovery of the patient's normal function in three days, which demonstrated the effectiveness of this technique for treating rCLCR in small animals.
