This study aimed to evaluate the impact of carbohydrate restriction on the management of type 2 diabetes. Through a comprehensive literature review, the effects of low-carbohydrate diets (LCDs) were compared with those of other dietary approaches, particularly low-fat diets (LFDs), in controlling glycemic levels and improving metabolic markers. The results consistently showed that LCDs, especially when carbohydrates are significantly reduced, tend to provide quicker and more effective improvements in blood glucose levels, HbA1c, and lipid profiles. The findings indicate that LCDs may offer a more rapid and safer approach to managing metabolic markers associated with type 2 diabetes, highlighting their potential as a valuable dietary strategy in the clinical management of the disease.
