Introdução: A doença periodontal (DP) é uma das condições inflamatórias crônicas que afetam a gengiva e os tecidos de suporte dos dentes, podendo resultar na exposição das raízes, reabsorção óssea alveolar, aumento da mobilidade dental e eventual perda dentária. Exodontias multíplices são intervenções cirúrgicas realizadas por técnicas abertas em uma mesma sessão. Nesse sentido, a reabilitação oral com próteses dentárias totais ou parciais é, portanto, a abordagem preferida para tratar essa condição. Objetivo: realizar ou relatar um caso clínico de exodontia múltiplas associadas com finalidade protética e demonstrar a importância de um planejamento adequado. Relato de caso: o paciente procurou a clínica odontológica, queixando-se de dores nos dentes ao se alimentar e ausência de estética ao sorrir. O tratamento proposto foi realizado de múltiplas exodontias associadas a cirurgia para regularização do rebordo alveolar e posteriormente encaminhado para reabilitação Protética. As próteses dentárias total mucossuportada superior e parcial inferior foram indicadas para o caso relatado mediante a necessidade do paciente. Conclusão: Os dentes desempenham um papel importante na articulação das palavras. A falta de dentes pode afetar a pronúncia de certos sons, tornando a fala incompreensível ou embaraçosa. A prótese total contribui para a recuperação da fonação, melhorando a clareza e a inteligibilidade da fala. Este trabalho evidenciou que a reabilitação com próteses dentárias possui vantagens, tanto no âmbito funcional, normalizando a fonética, e principalmente, desenvolvendo a função mastigatória, como no âmbito social restabelecendo a estética devolvendo o sorriso e a autoestima do indivíduo.
Introduction: Periodontal disease (PD) is a chronic inflammatory condition that affects the gums and supporting tissues of the teeth, and can result in root exposure, alveolar bone resorption, increased tooth mobility, and eventual tooth loss. Multiple tooth extractions are surgical interventions performed using open techniques in a single session. In this sense, oral rehabilitation with total or partial dental prostheses is, therefore, the preferred approach to treat this condition. Objective: to perform or report a clinical case of multiple tooth extractions associated with prosthetic purposes and demonstrate the importance of adequate planning. Case report: the patient sought the dental clinic, complaining of tooth pain when eating and lack of aesthetics when smiling. The proposed treatment consisted of multiple tooth extractions associated with surgery to regularize the alveolar ridge and subsequently referred for prosthetic rehabilitation. Upper total mucous-supported dental prostheses and lower partial dentures were indicated for the reported case based on the patient's needs. Conclusion: Teeth play an important role in the articulation of words. Missing teeth can affect the pronunciation of certain sounds, making speech incomprehensible or embarrassing. Complete dentures help restore phonation, improving speech clarity and intelligibility. This study showed that rehabilitation with dental prostheses has advantages, both in the functional sphere, normalizing phonetics and, mainly, developing masticatory function, and in the social sphere, restoring aesthetics, restoring the individual's smile and self-esteem.
