Motherhood represents a period of intense physical, emotional, and social changes in a woman’s life, which may directly impact self-esteem and quality of life. This study aimed to evaluate these aspects in postpartum women assisted in Barra do Garças-MT. It is a cross-sectional, analytical, and quantitative study conducted with 31 participants, using a sociodemographic questionnaire, SRQ- 20, MINI-C, PHQ-9, GAD-7, Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale, , and Stunkard’s Figure Rating Scale. The results showed a significant prevalence of anxiety and depression symptoms, as well as high levels of body image dissatisfaction, although most participants presented medium to high self-esteem. Age, marital status, and self-care practices directly influenced emotional outcomes. As a limitation, data collection was challenging in the emergency department, where many women had just gone through childbirth and chose not to participate. It is concluded that nursing teams should adopt an integral approach, strengthening social support and encouraging self-care.
