Todo produto proveniente do processo de transgenia, é desenvolvido em prol do melhoramento genético, sendo que, o objetivo desse trabalho, foi a realização de um levantamento relacionado ao meio social, sobre a produção e consumo de alimentos transgênicos, buscando correlacionar a veracidade dos saberes populares em relação aos saberes científicos. A metodologia aplicada foi na forma de questionário com caráter qualitativo e quantitativo, com perguntas semiestruturadas e estruturadas, em quantidade pré-determinada. Essas informações foram obtidas através de questionário on-line, ancorados na plataforma Google formulário, que foram enviados por meio de redes sociais e plataformas de ensino. Pode-se concluir que, ainda há falta de conhecimentos básicos sobre o assunto, principalmente em relação as populações mais carentes, já por outo lado, quem tem acesso a informações de qualidade, é perceptível a segurança dos mesmos, perante os dados disponibilizados por órgãos e instituições especializados no estudo do tema.

Every product resulting from the transgenic process is developed in favor of genetic improvement, and the objective of this work was to carry out a survey related to the social environment, on the production and consumption of transgenic foods, seeking to correlate the veracity of knowledge popular in relation to scientific knowledge. The methodology applied was in the form of a qualitative and quantitative questionnaire, with semi-structured and structured questions, in a pre-determined quantity. This information will be obtained through an online questionnaire, anchored on the Google Forms platform, which will be sent through social networks and teaching platforms. It can be concluded that, there is still a lack of basic knowledge on the subject, especially in relation to the most needy populations, on the other hand, those who have access to quality information, their security is noticeable, given the data made available by bodies and institutions specializing in the study of the topic.
