Este estudo investigou a importância da fotoproteção e o uso de protetores solares como medidas preventivas contra os danos da exposição solar excessiva. Focando em acadêmicos de Ciências Agrárias, que frequentemente enfrentam longas exposições ao sol, examinamos seus conhecimentos, atitudes e hábitos relacionados à proteção solar. Os resultados revelaram lacunas no entendimento dos participantes sobre a fotoproteção e a necessidade de conscientização. Muitos acadêmicos não adotavam medidas adequadas de proteção, aumentando o risco de câncer de pele e envelhecimento precoce. Este estudo ressalta a necessidade de programas educacionais sobre fotoproteção, destacando a importância do uso correto de protetores solares. Esperase que essa conscientização promova comportamentos mais seguros em relação à exposição solar, beneficiando a saúde da pele desses grupos.

This study investigated the importance of photoprotection and the use of sunscreens as preventive measures against damage from excessive sun exposure. Focusing on Agricultural Sciences students, who often face long exposures to the sun, we examined their knowledge, attitudes and habits related to sun protection. The results revealed gaps in participants' understanding of photoprotection and the need for awareness. Many academics did not adopt adequate protective measures, increasing the risk of skin cancer and premature aging. This study highlights the need for educational programs on photoprotection, highlighting the importance of correct use of sunscreens. It is hoped that this awareness will promote safer behaviors regarding sun exposure, benefiting the skin health of these groups
