Os Cistos Odontogênicos são o resultado de uma propagação dos remanescentes epiteliais que estão associados à formação dos elementos dentários. Sem predileção por gênero em específico ou idade, de modo geral se demonstram com um crescimento lento e sendo causador de alterações anatômicas, mudanças nas cores da mucosa e alteração na posição dos dentes. Este trabalho tem como objetivo estudar o caso onde a paciente apresentava um aumento de volume na região da mucosa na região posterior do osso mandibular na face vestibular, deste modo a mesma foi submetida a uma biópsia incisional para elucidação do diagnóstico e instalação de dispositivo de descompressão. O diagnóstico histológico foi compatível com cisto odontogênico infectado. Após descompressão inicial da lesão, foi submetida à remoção completa e tratamento definitivo.

Odontogenic cysts are the result of a spread of epithelial remnants that are associated with the formation of dental elements. Without predilection for specific gender or age, in general, they are shown with a slow growth and being cause of anatomical alterations, changes in mucosa colors and alteration in the position of the teeth. This paper aims to study a case in which the patient presented an increase in volume in the region of the mucosa in the posterior region of the mandible on the buccal surface, thus the patient underwent an incisional biopsy to elucidate the diagnosis and installation of a decompression device. The histological diagnosis was compatible with an infected odontogenic cyst. After initial decompression of the lesion, it was submitted to complete removal and definitive treatment.
